Maryborough will play an important role in the future of Australia’s defence capability as the home of the Rheinmetall NIOA Munitions factory - the most advanced manufacturing facility of its kind anywhere in the world which will soon start producing equipment for the ADF and allied nations while creating a stronger local economy.

The Coalition Government contributed $28.5 million towards the $60 million project, so we were delighted to host Regional Services Minister Senator Bridget McKenzie and Federal Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien MP to tour the plant and see the Regional Growth Fund dollars at work.
